My name is Jeff Cole. I write constantly. I am a marketing professional who blogs at http://www.pr101.biz. For that part of my life, I write everything from press releases to in-depth white papers.

I also am deep into my first novel. In fact, I just finished chapter 5. I also write short stories and poetry.

I spent 26 years as a working newspaper reporter. Newsrooms were the best place to learn to be a writer. Writing on deadline teaches one to organize your thoughts, recognize what's important and what's not, and how to pack all of the relevant information in a finite space. Sadly, newsrooms are going away.

Incidentally, as one who edits all kinds of materials - "professional" has only one "f."
