Howard also does a commendable job of infusing her characters with vivid, palpable personality, framing their inclinations and reactions in the three-dimensional, thus making it easy for readers to relate to them in very real, practical terms.

Three Weeks Last Spring

Skye Dunbar needs to get away from London to put a disastrous affair behind her. When she rents a small cabin in Washington State’s San Juan Islands, the last thing she expects is to be accused of computer hacking.
Marine biologist Jedediah Walker is called in to investigate the large number of dead marine life being washed up on the islands beaches. And he has another problem – an unexpected, beautiful and suspicious new tenant renting his cabin. When Walker discovers that the fish contain a high concentration of toxic chemicals, he suspects that the chemicals are being deliberately dumped in Puget Sound. And later, when someone hacks into his computer, he realises it is no coincidence and sets out to find out more about his mysterious new tenant.
However, Skye doesn’t like Walker from the moment she lays eyes on him. He feels the same. But that’s about to change.

Three Weeks Last Spring is a romance that takes the reader on a remarkable journey that gets better with each page. Skye and Jedediah both have problems that continue to be troublesome but no matter how bad things appear, their hearts seem to connect but neither wishes to be the first to express so. It is like a cat and mouse game of wits. One thing is certain; Ms. Howard spins a tale that places the reader directly into the lives of the characters. The blending in of the plot with the fish and the breaking into the computer made the story flow smoothly. The other secondary characters contribute to the storyline to make this read a great adventure. With a plate full of action-packed adventure that kept this reader entertained, Ms. Howard creates an enjoyable read.

I can say in all honesty that Victoria Howard has written a page turner with her debut novel. While reading Three Weeks Last Spring you are not only reading about what is happening to Skye at the present time, but piece by piece you also find out what happened with her before she went to Seattle, about her troubled relationship .This makes your understanding of her sharpen more and more by every piece. So much happens in this wonderful book, too much to write all down in a review. But if it would be possible to rate this book 6 flags, I would do it immediately. This book is filled with so much suspense and of course romance, it deserves more than the maximum score!
